Texas has over 1500 different court juristictions and they all have different rules - be sure to follow them! Your traffic citation or summons will specify a date and time on which you are required to appear in court. Simply select the driving safety course option to dismiss the infraction on the traffic ticket reply form. You'll still need to pay the court costs to the court and submit any required paperwork. You will then be give extra time to submit a certificate of completion to show that you successfully finished a class.
You may not take the course if you are taking the course at the time of this request, or if you have completed a course within the 12 months preceding the date of the offense. Commercial license (CDL) holders are not allowed to elect the defensive driving course option and must get court permission to take a class. Be sure to check with the court to verify that your specific violation allows you to elect the school option.
Our driver safety class is broken down into easy-to-manage chapters with multiple-choice quizzes at the end of each chapter. Each chapter contains a quiz that reviews important content from that chapter. There are 10 questions per quiz, and you must score a 70% or higher to move onto the next chapter. The quizzes will provide you with an excellent opportunity to master the course material. You will be provided with feedback on any incorrect answers, and you may retake your quizzes an unlimited amount of times. If you fail a quiz, you will be asked to retake the chapter’s lesson material before attempting the quiz again. After the last chapter, that's it! There is no final exam.

Why should I take this defensive driving course?
The main reason to take a defensive driving class is to keep the points off your license and a ticket off your record. Whether you're electing a class or satisfying a court or state requirement, the main reason to take our driver safety course is we believe it's the best driver safety class available. We may be a bit biased, but our goal is to entertain as well as educate.

Is this course state approved?
Yes! Our online Texas Defensive Driving course is state-approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) to meet all requirements for ticket dismissal and insurance reductions. Our Curriculum Provider number is 221 and our program has been taught in Texas since 2012.

Is there a final exam?
No, our Texas course does not have a final exam. We simply have 10-question multiple-choice quizzes at the end of each chapter. You can review and retake any chapter quizzes an unlimited amount of times if you don't pass the quiz with a score of at least 80%.

Where is my certificate?
Simply log back into your account to check the status of your certificate. Depending on your chosen delivery method, there may be a download link on your dashboard to instantly access your certificate if it's been processed. Sometimes we see our emails with attachments end up in your spam folder, so be sure to check there as well.

Why does the course have timers?
This course is required by Texas law to span 6 hours in length. To comply with this law, we (and all other online defensive driving schools) are required to place timers on each page of the course. We realize that some students may read faster than the timer will permit you to advance, but state regulations prohibit us from changing this function. The timers cannot be disabled for any reason.

What happens if there's a mistake on my certificate?
We urge students to double-check everything on their paperwork before it gets processed, but we understand that mistakes happen. You will need to log back into your account and order a duplicate certificate in order for us to issue a new certificate with any changes.

What do I do with the certificate once I get it?
You need to sign and submit your certificate to the court where the ticket was recieved, either by mail, in person or electronically (if available). The court may also require that you submit a copy of your Texas driving record (Type 3A), which can be ordered through our webite or through the State.
